Bouldering Gym Mural
Client: Hangar Climbing Lounge
Role: Creative direction, mural execution
Collaborators: Helen Eady, Q+A Creative
Overview
The Hangar Climbing Lounge is a bouldering gym and community hub in Sechelt, B.C. The gym is a vibrant, playful, and inclusive environment where climbing and connection are at the forefront. While the primary climbing area boasts a bright and engaging environment, the washroom lacked the same touch.
Outcome
As a full wrap around design, the washroom mural is an immersive experience into nature. Featuring a stylized forest scene scattered with boulders, flora, and fauna, the concept was inspired by the local outdoor bouldering area and brought much needed vibrancy to a lifeless room. A bold, high contrast palette inspired by the Hangar’s brand colours brought the design to life.
We were lucky enough to have Trina and Helen approach us, suggesting a mural for our bouldering gym. After a seamless consultation, they created something that is not only fun and interesting to look at, but elevates the entire experience of the space by capturing the magic of our passion and community. I was particularly impressed by how impactful and inventive the mural is, considering the space and budget limitations we had. Trina and Helen are a treat to work with!
